Anna Merle (Vest) Stanley

Anna Merle Vest Stanley, “Granny”, of Coal City, WV, age 98, passed peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born to the late Anderson and Mary Vest of Summers County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Stanley, brothers Oral, Otis, and infant brother Michael, and by sisters Ona, Dexter, Cleo, and Clara and grandson-in-law Kyle Hodgens. She is deeply loved and survived by her children Barry Stanley (Susan) of Lakeworth, FL, and daughter Diane Zeigler (Phillip) of Beckley, WV. A step-brother Cecil Ward of Coal City, WV, and two sister-in-laws Betty Callicoat of Proctorville, OH and Pauline Vest of Daniels, WV. Grandchildren Heather Booth (Chip), Brandon Stanley, Andrea Hodgens, Eric Stanley (Tatyana), Tia Colao (Ivan), and Nick Klein (Kayla). Anna also has fourteen great-grandchildren. Special friend Tena Winston of Coal City, WV, and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Anna was a sixty-nine-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Services to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley WV, with Pastor John Wittmann officiating. Receiving of friends and family will begin at 12:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Following the service, Anna will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley WV.
