Myrtle Bolen Dangerfield, 86, of Coal City passed away on October 12, 2017. Born March 19, 1931, in Odd, WV. She was the daughter of the late George and Lillie Thompson Bolen. Myrtle was a long time member of Community Baptist Church of Coal City. She enjoyed going to church, gardening, camping and quilting. She also liked to help her elder neighbors. In addition to her parents Myrtle was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Meadows, Aaron McKinney and Orval Dangerfield; four brothers, George, Eddie, Frank and Charles Bolen; sisters, Shirley McLoughlin and Carrie Ritter. Myrtle is survived her son, Wayne Meadows and wife Mary of Houston, TX; brother, Delbert Bolen of Shady Spring, sisters, Vercie Crouse of Princewick and Cora Bays of OH; granddaughter, Heather Smith and husband Earnie of OH; step daughter, Donna Moser and husband Tommy of Harrisonburg, VA; step grandson, David Judy and wife Kim and son Kyle; her three special “babies”, Sabrina Wilson, Elsie and Eli Mollett; several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather with the family from 12am-2pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Reed and Ernie Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Those serving as pallbearers include; Earnie Watkins, Branden Mollett, Drew Reed, Jeremy Hughes, Ryan Emmert, Justin Watkins and David Judy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bowers Hospice House, Pine Lodge staff and David and his family for traveling in to visit with Myrtle.
