Marjorie Helen Lois Hill was born Oct. 12, 1927 in Aptos, Calif. She was the fourth of the seven children of Lawrence and Fanny Hill. In 1928, the Hill family moved to Williams, Calif. Marjorie spent her growing up years there on the farm. She made her choice to serve the Lord as a teenager. She graduated in 1946 from Williams High School, and then in the fall of that year, she moved to Portland to live with her brother Fred and his wife Arlene. She lived and worked in Portland for a few years.
Then she went into the ministry, spending 17 years there in Oregon, South Idaho, and Washington. At age 50, Marjorie went to school to become an RN. She worked many years at Kaiser Permanente, retiring in 1992. Marge enjoyed working in her yard, and spent time traveling. Marge also loved walking and spending time on the beach.
February 28, 1997, Marge married Robert Brands and they made their home in Beaverton, Ore. They had 14 happy years together. Bob passed away in April, 2011, so then Marge moved to Russellville Memory Care in Portland, where she lived until her passing on May 28th of this year. She was very much loved and cared for by the staff there.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Fanny Hill; her brothers Raymond and Lloyd Hill; and her husband, Robert Brands.
She is survived by her step-daughters, Carla and her husband Jim Gillie of Puyallup, Wash., and Cathy and her husband Lawrence Krack of Buckley, Wash.; brothers Fred and his wife Arlene, Richard and his wife Florence; sisters Luella Hanson and Winifred Davison; and sister-in-law Sharon Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with a host of relatives and friends.
