Harold attended Lewis and Clark College prior serving honorably in the US Navy during Korean War era. On July 28, 1955 he married Lenora Coyle in Portland.
Mr. Ostby worked for Chrysler in their corporate offices, and then left for Lease Northwest, which he operated for about 30 years before retiring in 1994.
Harold and Lenora loved traveling, having visited countries all over the world, gone on many cruises, and enjoyed annual trips to Palm Springs. He volunteered at St. Vincent Medical Center for many years as a valet and information desk attendant. He enjoyed exploring financial investments and playing the stock market.
Harold was preceded in death by Lenora in 2002 and by his three brothers.
He is survived by four children, Debbie Gill of Hillsboro, Denise DeCicco and husband Calvin of Newberg, David Ostby of Beaverton, and Diane Ostby of Beaverton;
Grandchildren Casie Gill, Kelly Gill-DeMoe, Jackie Waters, and Chris DeCicco;
two great-grandchildren, Avery Mae and Caleb DeMoe;
and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services are to be held. Harold will be laid to rest with military honors at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to Providence Hospice.
