Gerald, otherwise known as Jerry, is described by his loved ones as a storyteller, a family man, but mostly he is described as a “Character”. He is known for his giving nature, big heart, and his sense of humor.
53 years ago, Gerald met his wife at Manhattan Beach in California, they spent the evening walking and talking, and ultimately fell in love. He lived the rest of his life married to Beverly and surprising her with little trips out of town. They raised their children together, and moved to Oregon in 2009, where they attended Evergreen Christian Center. Jerry loved his time at church, singing hymns, especially The Old Rugged Cross.
In recent years he found love with his dear cat Sadie, a beloved “torby” (tortoise shell and tabby!), whom he doted on until her passing in 2021. Jerry had a love of coin collecting, particularly foreign coins. He also loved fishing- though he was an impatient fisherman. His favorite day of the year was his birthday, June 2. He would start the countdown to his birthday starting in January, making sure everyone knew!
Jerry is survived and dearly missed by his wife, his loving daughter Elizabeth and his three grandchildren.
