Don passed peacefully on Saturday, September 16th with his family at his bedside. He grew up and lived his entire life in Beaverton. He attended Beaverton High School and went on to attend University of Oregon where he was a Beta and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He later got a Master's degree at Portland State University. Don's education served him well as he started as a salesman, then sales manager, vice president, and finally CEO of Pacific Metal Company. Don was always intrigued by the variety of things his customers made out of aluminum, brass, copper, and steel.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Debi, Sharyl, Steve, Linda, scone, Mollie, and Staci; his brother and sister, Roger and Sue; and 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
When he wasn't encouraging his family members to be the first to jump in the pool at the start of the summer season, he was playing golf, reading, or doing crossword puzzles. In his retirement, he served on many boards as a volunteer. He also started the Peck Family Foundation with his parents, Norton and Barbara Peck, his sister Sue Hall, and brother Roger Peck. It gave him great pleasure to do charitable work.
Along with Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation district, Don donated and dedicated the Wanda L. Peck park on the corner of SW Murray and SW Butner.
Rest in peace, dear Donald. You had a gold standard family and many loyal friends who loved you.
You will be with us always.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.peggpaxsonspringerfuneralhome.com for the Peck family.
