Born Jan. 24, 1916 in Park City, Utah, David graduated from University of Utah. He continued his studies at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, graduating with a Master of Divinity. He was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. After being ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1939, he pastored at churches in Michigan, Wisconsin, Idaho, and Oregon. He retired in 1982.
He and his wife, Reta, moved to the Portland area in 1975 and remained there until his death. They loved fishing, going to the beach, spending time in Bend with family, and most of all gardening and landscaping their yard.
David will be remembered for his love and devotion to Reta, his wry sense of humor and his kind and gentle spirit.
He is survived by Reta, his loving wife of over 40 years; as well as three sons (one deceased), two stepchildren, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
