I worked with Cindy in the DNCC for the last 16 years. She was a vibrant and competent presence in even the most challenging situations. She was such a cheery person, that it was always a delight to be around her.  I am so sad, but I am so grateful that I was able to know her.

I had the privilege of working with Cindy in the DNCC for the past 17 1/2 years.  She will be deeply missed.

I've worked with Cindy in the DNCC for 21 years.  You cannot look anywhere around our unit and not see her.  I still see her distinct handwriting on things and think how we are all going to miss her and all she did for us.  She will be truly missed.

I worked with Cyndi for 10 years in some of the most challenging situations imaginable.  She helped babies, nurses, practioners, and doctors navigate the unknown on a daily basis.  She truly made a difference in so many lives.  Her loss will be felt for a long time to come, but I am so grateful for the opportunity to have stood beside this amazing woman. I am so sad to hear about Cindy's passing. My heart goes out to my uncle Greg and cousins Kelsey, Emmy, and all family and close friends. Cindy was and always will be the happiness and strength that represents the great part of life. I am thankful for the memories and proud of the inspiration she provided to everyone who knew her.

Our son attended grade school and high school with Kelsey.  Kelsey is a testament to her mother and father's values in that she always accepted him as a person and acknowledged him as a friend despite his disability.  We so appreciated that and knew that Cindy and Greg had fostered an incredible person in Kelsey.  I worked with Cindy in the NICU years ago and will always remember her amazing presence and grace.  Losing Cindy at such a young age causes great sadness.  Our thoughts are with Greg, Emma and Kelsey as they travel this difficult road towards healing.

In memory of Cindy: I will always remember you as one of those nurses who were able to balance the needs of the patients and the skill of the staff. When I knew you were in charge, I rested easier knowing that you were always going to do the right thing. You will always be a presence in the DNCC, I will never forget you as a nurse and mostly, as someone who was always there for her fellow nurses and for the babies and families.

I smiled so big when I floated to NICU and heard that Cindy was Charge Nurse,because I knew it would be a smooth shift. She was always there for everyone, and she knew the answer to almost everything. She is truly missed.

I first began working with Cindy when she was Cindy Baker back in 1983.  We worked together for nearly 30 years.  She was an outstanding nurse who sincerely cared for every patient, every family, and every staff member.  Cindy was very professional and took her charge nurse duties very seriously and made a very hectic and busy NICU run smoothly.  But she was funny too....she had a great sense of humor and always had a smile....a smile I'll never forget.  I have a dairy farm and one time we had 3 little heifers born within a week.  I named the first one Cindy.  Well, Cindy jokingly said that I should name them Cindy, Louise, and Bell.  So I did.  She was tickled pink and told everyone that she had 3 little calves named after her.  She asked me one day if I could take a picture of them, so I brought her a picture of Cindy, Louise, and Belle (my spelling).  She showed everyone that picture and I believe she kept it in her wallet!  She was a very important part of my life and my nursing career.  I have been praying that your family remains strong and knows that she is proudly looking down on all of you, knowing that she did an outstanding job of raising two beautiful daughters with her loving husband.  I'm heartbroken that she left us so soon.  My sincere condolences to all of her family.

I look around our unit and see Cindy at every turn - she was everywhere and involved in almost everything. She has taught me that with hard work, dedication, and passion, anything is possible.  Thank you for being a wonderful role model and dear friend.  Words cannot express the loss we feel, but we will cherish all you have done and reflect on the beautiful memories you have created in the DNCC. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

when all the wall were caving in Cindy was there. She did not pass judgement and was so helpful to everyone who ever worked with her. I enjoyed listing to her talk about her camping trips. She will so very missed.

One amazing nurse and person. Always there to help problem solve, laugh with or confideas in. You will be missed by so many and will always be a DNCC legend.

Cyndi was an amazing nurse and provided such wonderful care to our patients.  I really admired and respected her.  She was so hard working and positive.  My condolences to you all.  She will be greatly missed.

I am at work today in DNCC, and there have been at least 6 times that I have had questions that only Cindy Bell could answer. She always knew the answer or would cheerfully find it for you. Cindy has been part of my life since we both lived on the 6th floor of OHSU's residence hall during nursing school(1979 or so), then both took jobs in the NICU. Her absence here leaves a huge empty space that no one person will be able to fill.

There was never a challenge too great for Cindy to try to accomplish. She was a gifted nurse, a compassionate friend and a wonderful person. I shared a lot of difficult times with Cindy as I grew into my role as NNP at OHSU--and quite a few laughs along the way. I am so sorry for her family's and friends' loss-and for mine as well. I worked with Cindy for all of her career in the NICU.  She was always willing to give a helping hand and had a cheerful attitude.  She will be sorely missed.  My thoughts go to her family and her NICU family, as well.

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Cindy, but I do know her daughter Emma Bell. I can tell that Cindy was an amazing person because of the upbeat, caring and genuine person I see in  Emma. Wishing you all peace in this difficult time.

I had the privilege of working with Cindy in the DNCC. What an amazing nurse- involved in so many committees to better the unit, an amazing charge nurse who was always there for us, and an excellent advocate for her patients. 
I can't say enough good things about her; truly an inspiration to those who had the opportunity to work with her.

Mama C, as I would call her, was truly an amazing woman and will be greatly missed. She opened her home, heart, and family to me and I will be forever grateful for what she did. I will cherish all my memories of her, always.

My deepest sympathy for the entire family. God took her much too early for we on earth, but at the time He had chosen that was right for Heaven.

My sister was probably one of the most giving caring people that I have had the privilege of knowing my entire life. She touched so many lives in so many ways. I love her and will miss her deeply
