Charles "Charlie" Kenneth Bailey

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10:30 AM.

Charlie was the first born to Charles and Lois (Close) Bailey in Wallace, Idaho. He was later joined by a younger brother and sister. He graduated from Oregon City High School in 1969 and then attended Portland State earning a degree in business. Charlie made his career in the insurance industry, working as a commercial property underwriter and most recently a manager.

On June 26, 1976 in Gresham Charlie married Susan Sande, and they welcomed a son in 1982 and a daughter in 1988. Charlie enjoyed reading and spending time with his family, following each of the kids’ activities and was delighted to welcome a grandson this past January. Charlie and Susan enjoyed traveling together, some of the noted trips being to Europe, Washington DC, New York City, Orlando, California, Arizona, Canada, and an Alaskan cruise.

He was a member of St. Cecilia Church, the Knights of Columbus and the CPCU Society.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Susan Bailey; children, Christopher (Jenna) Bailey, Jennifer Bailey; grandson, Rylan Bailey; mother, Lois Bailey; brother, Thomas Bailey; sister, Kathy Gribble; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Bailey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church or The Red Cross.
