Born on June 22nd, 1962 to Robert Ervin and Patricia (Grimson) Ervin in Beevile, Texas. Joining older brothers Bob and Brad.
Brent grew up in many different places due to his fathers honorable military service. He enjoyed places such as Texas, Hawaii and California before his mother married Don Clark and settled the family down in Beaverton, Oregon where he attended school until he left home at sixteen years old. While in school, Brent enjoyed being the lead (Peter Pan) in a school play as well as shop class.
While working countless hours, he achieved his GED. He continued working and more importantly to him, enjoying life. In 1983, he began working during the summers in Port Moller, Alaska for Peter Pan Fisheries where he poured his heart and soul into climbing the ladder and after many years and multiple positions, he was hired to be part of the machine maintenance department. In 1988, Brent met the love of his life Casey, on New Years Eve at Cattle Company. Sweeping her off her feet with his charming ways with a kiss while she was dancing with another man. The two fell madly in love and eloped in Port Townsend, Washington in September of 1988. Together, they were a dynamic duo. Casey joined Brent working in Port Moller, Alaska until 1991 when they were blessed with their son Brent Lee Ervin. Soon after in 1994, their daughter Caitlyn Ervin was born. Brent enjoyed slow dancing with his daughter to Butterfly Kisses while she stood on his feet, being a bucking bronco for his son as he tried his best to stay on his back, family dinners and quiet moments with his wife. In 1999, after many years of hard work and dedication while working in Alaska, Viskase offered him an opportunity to interview for a job that forever changed his life.
He began working for Viskase as a Packaging Machine specialist and even sought and achieved further education in machinery from Portland Community College. The family bought land and built their dream home to raise their children in Banks, Oregon in 2001. Brent and Casey continued to raise their children in Banks. While his career forced him to travel a large portion of the time and introduced him to many new and exciting places, he always enjoyed home the best. Working for Viskase, Bemis, Curwood and Winpak in his career before opening his own company with his wife, K&M Packaging Accessories, in 2011 and fully immersing himself in their companies in 2018. His companies were large points of pride to him. From a kid leaving home at 16, to building a home, family and multiple successful companies with his wife Casey, he has achieved something so many dream of.
Brent enjoyed traveling, working on and racing his RC car, enjoying spirits with friends, adventures and quite moments with Casey and their dog Molly, his love of the band Rush with his son Brent including many concerts, working beside his daughter Caitlyn on Vacuum packaging machines, building his businesses and was enjoying his quieter later years.
Brent will be cherished for his tenacity and remarkable ability to save the day. He was a devoted husband, loving father to two children, grandfather and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Ervin, older brother Bob, step father Don Clark and beloved family dogs Freedom and Libby as well as the family bird, Sunny. He is survived by his wife Casey (Craven) Ervin, children Brent and Caitlyn Ervin, and granddaughter Emerson Beam . Mother Patricia (Grimson) Clark, Step mother Judith Ervin and brother Brad Ervin.
As per Brent’s wishes, there will be no services.
“If you won’t come see me when I’m alive, don’t come see me when I’m dead.”
