Ruby V. Johnson

Ruby was a member of First Baptist Church of Beauxart Gardens where she served for many years as a nursery caregiver. She loved the Lord and loved to read her Bible and pray for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her life was characterized by her devotion to God, her family, and to those around her. John 13:34 was her chosen verse for her children: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." Ruby was a precious, mild tempered woman that quietly and ceaselessly served those around her. She was the perfect example of this verse.

Ruby loved to work in her garden. She loved to be in the woods camping with her family and enjoying God's creation. She loved to read uplifting stories. She was a great cook and was known for her buttermilk biscuits and tomato gravy. She always made sure that everyone had something to eat when they came to visit.

Ruby was preceded in death by husband of 54 years, Ray Johnson, and 8 of her brothers and sisters.

Ruby is survived by; son Nelson Johnson and wife Debbie, son Walter Johnson and wife Kitti, daughter Janie Reid and husband Wayne, daughter June Ledesma and husband Ricky, son Wayne Johnson and wife JaNaya, sisters Mary Hall and Sadie Ward, and brother Hubert Reynolds. Ruby is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Adam Johnson, James Johnson, Mike Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Aaron Ledesma.
