Robert Edward Veale, 91, a seventy-one year resident of the areas of Beaumont, Lumberton and Kountze, passed away on Wednesday January 2, 2019 in Beaumont. Robert was born in Roseville, California on December 20, 1927 to his parents Dewey and Lenna Gerken Veale who preceded him in death. Robert retired from Ashland Oil as a Superintendent after forty years of dedicated service. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran.
Robert was a Baptist by faith and attended Woodrow Baptist Church in Silsbee. During his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, all facets of gardening, and especially being with family at the various holiday occasions throughout the years. Robert loved to also travel with groups of friends to various places in the states some of the time he used his piloting skills and flew to these places.
Robert is survived by his son; Richard D. Veale and wife Lynn of Belton, daughters; Linda D. Veale of Temple, Deborah Irving and husband Michael of Lumberton, grandchildren; Bryan Irving, Jennifer Buckley and husband Jeremy, Ryan Veale and wife Holly, Kelly Bailey and husband Cody, and six great grandchildren.
A sharing of Robert’s life will begin at 12:00 noon on Sunday January 6, 2019 until the Celebration of Life funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
