Muriel Lea Sherman

Muriel Lea Sherman, age 77, passed from this life February 26, 2013 in Beaumont. She was born September 12, 1935 in Huntsville, Texas to Herbert and Irene Adams. She was an elementary school teacher in Vidor for most of her career. Her greatest pleasure towards the end of her life was her weekly dominoe games with her friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will truly be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Irene Adams, her husband, Donald Lee Sherman and one daughter, Joani Sherman Hayes, and beloved aunt and uncle, Estelle and Wilburn Maynard.

She is survived by her son, Chuck D. Sherman and wife Robbie of Beaumont, brother, Larry Adams and wife Lydia of Katy, Texas, five grandchildren; April Whitehead and husband Brad of Beaumont, Cara Sherman, Jade Calaway, Jeramiah Calaway, Jazmin Calaway, of Beaumont, and Cody Hayes of Seattle, WA, two great-grandchildren; Dylan Calaway, and Landon McCurley of Beaumont.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to (PAWS), Pineywoods Animal Welfare Society 3720 Acorn Circuit BEAUMONT, TX, 77703.
