Mary Burke Morris, 80, of Zavalla, died Monday, January 24, 2023 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of the area, Mary was born on January 7, 1943 in Houston to Walton Turner and Jimmie Nell Turner.
Mary Burke held several different jobs over the years, but the most important was the raising of her children, and participating in all their many sports and activities. She raised her children in the North End Methodist Church. She loved gardening, cooking, and socializing which included many "Pot Luck", and "Fish Fries" for her neighbors and family. Her home was an expression of her love and talent of decorating. Mary ran a bed and breakfast at her home which was called Lakeside Resort. She loved visiting with her guest over a good cup of coffee. She was known to take off shopping and was usually gone most of the day. It was her "retail therapy". She was extremely proud of both of her grandchildren, Amanda is a Industrial engineer and Zach is in real estate management.
A Celebration Graveside Service under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
Mary is survived by her son, Jimmy Beuhler and his wife Kim, daughter, Kimberly Dandurant, grandchildren, Amanda Beuhler of Brookland, Zach Coutee of Lumberton, and her great grandson Carson Beuhler all of Lumberton.
The family would like to give a special Thanks to all her caregivers at Silsbee Oaks Nursing Home, and to Pastor Nathan Cothen.
Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
