Marcia was born on October 7, 1922 to Charles and Alice Crawford in Omaha, NB. She married Ernest L. Lindsey on December 18, 1953 in Washington, DC. Before retiring, she had worked as a librarian for the Office of Management Budget in Washington, DC for 28 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bevil Oaks and volunteered there as often as she could, was active in the WMU and also enjoyed working as church librarian. She also enjoyed canning and walking everyday with her friend, Helen.
Marcia was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Her survivors include a daughter, Nancy Bandy and husband Bill of Poolesville, MD; brother, Charles Crawford and wife Wilma of Sharpsburg, GA; sister, Dorothy King and husband Charles of Casper, WY; granddaughter, Michelle Burke of Winston, Salem; nieces and nephews and a special friend Helen Smith of Beaumont.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, December, 12, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Monday, December 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the “Garden of Prayer” Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bevil Oaks Library, 7725 Sweetgum Rd., Beaumont, TX 77713.
