Mrs. Reynard was born April 15, 1912 to Oscar and Beatrice Nelson in Edgemont, South Dakota. Her family moved to the Rio Grande Valley when she was a young girl and she graduated from Pharr San Juan Alamo High School in 1930. Lois married Kenneth F. Reynard in 1936 and this marriage lasted 61 years.
Her interests in life were her family and friends, television sports involving the Cowboys, Astros, or Longhorns, and Republican politics in general.
Mrs. Reynard was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, her daughter Marilyn Reynard Taylor of Huntsville, her brother Harry Nelson of McAllen, and her sister Helen Lee of Monahans, Texas.
She is survived by three sons; Chuck and wife Hope of Lumberton, Daryl and wife Linda of Boerne, and David and wife Betty of Beaumont.
Her grandchildren are David Reynard Jr. and wife Ellen, Robyn Reynard Kocot and husband Robert, Brian Reynard, Melissa Taylor Allen and husband Vincent of New Waverly, Robert Reynard and Nicole of Salt Lake City, Jon and Casey of Spring, Rachel Reynard Guilbeau and Mike of The Woodlands, Kristen Reynard Miller and Jared of Boerne, Sarah Reynard Bills and Adam of Beaumont, Katy Reynard Scully and Ben of College Station, Rebecca Reynard Whiting and Rocky of Boerne, Clint Reynard of Houston, Justin Reynard of Houston, and Reid and Addison Reynard of Lumberton.
Great grandchildren are Madisen and Ashley Reynard of Beaumont; Allie Kocot of Beaumont; Payton, Ryan, Lincoln and Connor Reynard of Spring; Lauren, Holden, Caroline and Kathryn Miller of Boerne; Hanna, Hallie, and Heidi Guilbeau of The Woodlands; Kali, Ashley, and Riley Bills of Beaumont; Ryan Reddon of New Waverly.
Mrs. Reynard’s special friends are Dorothy White and Bettie Nixon of Beaumont and Clyde Taylor of Huntsville.
Lois was a charter member of Calder Woods and she enjoyed living there. Her family sincerely thanks the members of the staff who cared for her during her years of residence.
Funeral services for Lois will be Monday, August 29 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the funeral at 10 a.m. Members of the family will serve as pall bearers.
In lieu of the usual remembrances Lois asked that you acknowledge her long life by living each day of your life to the fullest.
