Larry grew up in Beaumont, TX. He attended Austin Junior High School and graduated from French High School. He worked many jobs, from baker's assistant at the Business and Professional Men's Club, Cook at The Palace, Operator at Water Treatment Plant for City of Beaumont, and a Lineman for Gulf States Utilities. He retired from Texas Brine as an Operator.
Larry loved music, especially rock, and attended many concerts growing up. He enjoyed doing yard work and volunteering his free time helping others at food banks and nonprofit events. He was devoted to the 700-club morning show and his bible. Larry was an all-around sports dad who also loved the Houston Texans football team. One of his joys was sharing his season tickets with friends and family so they could enjoy the experience as well. His hobbies included watching movies, collecting cards and coins, playing sports with his son Michael, and supporting his love of racing dirt bikes regardless of the money pit it was. He loved his daughter Amanda, the definition of "Daddy's Girl", and his three granddaughters.
What made Larry so special was how he cared so much for others and was always willing to help anyone in need. His smile and laugh would light up any room he walked into. His heart may not have been the healthiest, but it was larger than life and he loved hard in its entirety.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Merita Ramos Holland and Edgar Holland; two brothers, Eddie Ray Holland and Daniel Dupree; a sister, Rita Jean Dupree; and grandparents, Sidney Ramos and Mary Estros Ramos.
Larry is survived by his two children. His daughter, Amanda Boutte and her husband Corey Boutte, and his son, Michael Holland; three granddaughters Emery, Trinity, and Celina; three sisters, Cathy Holland Cross and her husband John, Cindy Holland Cockerham and her husband Steve, and Joyce Dupree; and three brothers, Jimmy Holland and his wife Jana, Curtis Holland and Wayne Holland.
