In loving memory of Larry Ray Hadaway, born on May 15, 1947, to Joe D. Hadaway Sr. and Juanita Brown in Mississippi, and passed away peacefully at his home in Vidor, Texas, on April 14, 2024. Larry was a cherished member of his community, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Larry's life was marked by service and dedication. As an Army Veteran, he bravely served his country during the Vietnam War as a Helicopter Gunner, demonstrating his courage and commitment to duty. Following his military service, Larry pursued a career as a welder and truck driver, retiring after years of hard work and dedication.
For the past 20 years, Larry called Vidor, Texas, his home, but his heart always remained rooted in his Mississippi roots, where he spent the majority of his life. Larry had a passion for adventure and freedom, often found cruising on his beloved Harley Davidson, feeling the wind in his hair and the open road beneath his wheels. He found joy and camaraderie in the game of pool, where he shared many memorable moments with friends and family.
Larry was a devoted family man, finding his greatest happiness in the company of his loved ones. He cherished every moment spent with his sons, Larry A. Hadaway and Louis Hadaway, and their respective families. Larry leaves behind a lasting legacy through his grandchildren, Joshua and Maddie Hadaway, along with five great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, who will always hold him dear in their hearts.
Larry's life was enriched by the presence of his faithful companions, Bubba and Honey, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years.
In Larry's passing, he is reunited with his beloved parents, Joe D. Hadaway Sr. and Juanita Hadaway, as well as his siblings, Joe D. Hadaway Jr. and Sarah Hadaway, who preceded him in death.
Larry Ray Hadaway will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the cherished memories and love he shared with those fortunate enough to have known him. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the profound impact he had on all who had the privilege of crossing his path.
A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703.
Larry will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, in the Halls of Serenity.
