Joseph Lloyd Jannise, a beloved resident of Southeast Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the age of 89. Born in the heart of Beaumont, Lloyd was the cherished son of Osea Jagneaux Jannise and Claude Jannise.
Lloyd's legacy lives on through his surviving family members, each of whom he held dear to his heart. He is survived by his two sons, Richard Claude Jannise and his wife Sally of Magnolia, Texas and Paul Edward Jannise and his wife Karey of China, Texas, his brother Willard Jannise, along with his loving grandchildren: Christopher Jannise, Angela Jannise-Teague, Richard Jannise Jr., Corey Jannise, Kelli Mena.
While we mourn Lloyd's passing, we also remember the loved ones who preceded him in death. Lloyd joins his beloved wife, Claudeann Jannise, and his son, Lloyd Wayne Jannise, in eternal rest. He is also reunited with his parents, Osea Jagneaux Jannise and Claude Jannise, as well as his siblings: Joseph Jannise, Clyde Jannise, Percy Jannise, Aileen Howard, and Julia Jannise.
Lloyd 's life was a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. He was a dedicated member of the 4-point hunting club in East Texas for over 40 years, finding solace in the woods. In addition to his passion for hunting, he had a need for speed, enjoying dirt track racing and piloting his crop duster airplane. He loved performing daring aerobatic maneuvers like the hammer head stall in his aircraft.
Beyond his many interests and pursuits, Lloyd leaves behind a lasting legacy of ten great-grandchildren.
His memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him. His adventurous spirit, warm heart, and zest for life will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Lloyd's celebration of life will be on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. After burial, Lloyd's family would like to welcome you to share memories and fellowship at Forest Lawn Funeral Homes catering room.
All that knew, loved, or admired him are welcome.
