John Pierce

John Milton Pierce, 76, of Lumberton died Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Kountze Nursing Home in Kountze, TX. A native of Vernon, TX., John was a longtime resident of Nederland before moving to Lumberton 14 years ago. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy. John was a retired construction worker with Southwestern Bell. John, in his spare time, enjoyed being a Hamm Radio Master Communicator handle W1JMP, fishing, hunting, cooking, and traveling.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Beaumont. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Rock N Dollar Ranch, 11134 Burge Rd., Lumberton, Texas 77657.

John was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Opal Pierce, mother of his daughter, Gail Pierce, brother, Melvin Pierce, and sister Zelma Cooper.

John is survived by his loving wife of 13 years Joyce Pierce, daughter, Melissa Wheeler and her husband Kevin of Spring Branch, TX., Linda Mae Hunter and her husband Karl of Lumberton, sons, John Wayne Hicks of Lubbock, TX., and Ben Hicks and wife Leslie of Winnie, TX., grandchildren, Kayla Wheeler, and Austin Wheeler, and great grandson, Willis Ezernack, III.

John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
