John "Johnny" Columbus Davis, Jr., a lifelong resident of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on August 14, 1932, John was the beloved husband of Geraldine Winfree Davis for over 75 years.
Johnny dedicated many years of his life as a skilled Carpenter at Carrol Construction. He was a faithful attendee of the Apostolic Church of Lumberton, finding solace and community in his faith.
Johnny's passion for music, particularly bluegrass, was evident in his guitar playing. He spent countless hours in his woodworking shop, crafting beautiful pieces that his wife lovingly painted. An avid collector of spare change, he had banks filled with coins throughout his home. He found great joy in listening to Astros games on the radio.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Maddie and John Davis, Sr., his son Mike Davis, his grandson Little Rick Davis II, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine, his children Ricky Davis, David Davis, Sharon Talbot, and Lynn Davis, his grandchildren Heck Talbot, John Davis, Cassy Peveto, Amanda McKittrick, John Pyle, Randy Pyle, Kenny Pyle, Dusti Kennington, Andy Davis, Jeremiah Davis, and Zack Davis, and numerous great-grandchildren.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place on March 22, 2024, from 5-7pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, TX, followed by a Celebration of Johnny's Life at the same location on March 23, 2024, at 10am. He will be laid to rest at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Kountze, TX.
Johnny's memory will be cherished by all who knew him, as he leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and craftsmanship. May he rest in peace.
