James Lee Mitchell Jr.

James Lee Mitchell, Jr., 75, of Beaumont, died Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Natchitoches, LA., he has lived in Beaumont for 47 years and was a road crew supervisor with Texas Department of Transportation. James enjoyed fishing in the river, mechanic work, and spending time with his family.

A Celebration of James's Life will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 9:00am to 10:00 am on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the funeral home.

James was preceded in death by his parents A. L. Mitchell and Mary Mitchell, Sr., and his brother Raymond Mitchell.

James is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Cecilia Moore Mitchell, daughter Elissa Monique Mitchell, son James Lee Mitchell, III all of Beaumont, sister Dorothy Green of Shreveport, cousins Todd Carter, James Carter, Raymond Carter, Patsy Bass Shirley Zachery all of Beaumont, and his four grandbabies Chassidy Bob, Joshua Smith, Aleeyah Mitchell, Kenzlee Levi, and niece Tequila Skys of Beaumont.

James will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
