Inez W. Johnson

Inez Woods Johnson, 98, of Beaumont, Texas passed away at her home on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Inez was born March 16, 1913, in Newton, Texas to Charles W. and Alice Woods. She lived in Beaumont for the past 70 years and was also a former resident of Newton. She was a member of First Church of God and a former member of First Baptist Church of Beaumont.

She was a longtime member of The Women’s Garden Club and was deeply devoted to helping other people throughout her life. She will be remembered for her love of God’s natural beauty as much as she looked for it in those she loved around her.

Inez is survived by her son, Charles Raye Finney and wife, Janet of West Simsbury, Connecticut and two grandchildren, Charles Raye Finney II and Elizabeth Rhys Finney. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews throughout the area.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 10 a.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
