Born to John Marion Hutchins and Callie Cooper, Harold was raised with strong values and a deep sense of commitment to family. In his youth, he worked in the fields, eventually taking work as a welder. Later, encouraged by his young wife, he continued his education, working to become a beloved high school teacher and coach. Going further, he ultimately earned his Master of Education in Administration and served as Vice Principal at Lumberton Middle School several years before retiring in 1991, having touched the lives of countless students and colleagues.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Harold found deep meaning and purpose in his faith, serving faithfully as a deacon at First Baptist Church Loeb in Lumberton, TX, for many years. His devotion to God was the cornerstone of his character, guiding him in both joyous and challenging times.
A true family man, Harold's love for his wife, Lorene Hutchins, was a beacon of strength and unwavering support for over 50 years. Together, they shared a bond built on love, respect, and enduring companionship. His son, Lance Hutchins, was a source of immense pride, and his granddaughters, Eve and Elizabeth, brought immeasurable joy to his life.
Harold possessed a gentle spirit, characterized by an even temper and a knack for lightening the mood. His talent for wood carving and intricate wood burning reflected the care and patience he took with his loved ones. He was known for his infectious laughter, jovial nature, and funny stories, bringing light and laughter wherever he went.
In his passing, Harold is reunited with his parents, John Marion Hutchins and Callie Hutchins; as well as his brother John David; and five sisters, Elizabeth, Elsie, Fay, Marian, and Myrtle. Yet, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. His influence as a beloved teacher, coworker, friend, and devoted family man lives on in many hearts.
Harold Hutchins leaves behind a cherished legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit remains ever-present, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart deeply loved."
