Frank C. “Babe” Bonura went to be with his Lord and Savior and his wife of 74 years on March 3, 2014. Frank was born in Beaumont, Texas on February 18, 1915. He resided in Beaumont all of his life. He served overseas in World War II from May of 1945 until June 1946. Frank worked for The Phelan Company in Beaumont for 50 years, rising from a truck driver to the position of Vice President. He was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church for over 70 years.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Katie Bonura. His sister Alvita Cooke, brother Carmelo “C.J.” Bonura, and his wife of 74 years Aline Carroll Bonura.
Frank is survived by his son, Joe C. Bonura and his wife Joyce of Beaumont, daughter Carol Aiken and husband Wayne of Hillister, Texas, and son Milton D. Bonura and wife Piper of Tennessee. One sister, Josephine Minks of Louisville, Kentucky.
Grandchildren, Steven Bonura and wife Tina of Katy, Texas, Kristin Byars and husband Richard of Beaumont, Texas, Desiree Banfield and husband James of Sugar Land, Texas. Darren Wise of Hillister, Texas and Danny Wise of Austin, Texas. Jason Bonura, Cody Bonura and Zachary Bonura of Tennessee.
Great grandchildren, Stephanie, Jenna and Andie McCain of Beaumont. Joshua and Gracie Byars of Beaumont. Wesley and Matthew Bonura of Katy. Cameron and Carson Banfield of Sugar Land. Lucas Wise of Crosby. Julia and Spencer Bonura of Mauriceville.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but most of all by his kids, grand kids and great grand kids who always gave him great love and satisfaction in knowing he would leave a great legacy behind.
Even until his last year he would set aside envelopes with birthday and Christmas money for each of the grand kids and great grand kids.
In lieu of flowers he would want contributions to Rosedale Baptist Church of Beaumont in his memory.
He had three priorities in life. His God, His Wife and His Kids. A better father, grandfather and great grandfather, our family could not have had!
Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lennie Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
