Evelyn Beasley

Evelyn Marie Beasley, 89, of Lumberton, passed away on Friday August 30, 2013 at Village Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Lumberton. A native of Madison, Arkansas she was a lifelong resident of the Beaumont/Bevil Oaks area. Evelyn was born March 13, 1924 to Andrew and Ophilia Collins Hamm who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband Jessie, and her son Hugh Beasley. Mrs. Beasley enjoyed gardening and used those skills to produce her beautiful back yard. She was a member of TOPPS, loved bowling, crocheting, and overall loved being around her church friends and even was known to be their chauffer to their various appointments. Mr. and Mrs. Beasley were founding and charter members of The First Baptist Church of Bevil Oaks actually having the first meeting of the beginning of the church held in their home. Surviving Evelyn are her sons Craig Beasley and his wife Faye of Lumberton, Harvey Beasley and his wife Donna of Naples, Texas. Also surviving are her daughter-in-law Marion Beasley Davis of Village Mills, eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Beasley will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Forest Lawn’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
