Delores loved going to church with her grandkids. She also enjoyed mingling and meeting new people at the Senior Rec Center. Her peace was when she was camping in the woods with her family. She would often be caught smiling at her granddaughter, Clarissa, watching her sing and dance while she did the dishes. She also enjoyed sitting on the front porch drinking a hot cup of coffee and enjoying the company of her daughter-in-law, Melissa. When it came time to watch her Astros, the whole house would grow silent making sure not to disturb her. Delores is finally joining her daughter, Kathy Bates, and grandson, Kenny Bates, in heaven. She will be missed dearly, and she will always have a special place in our hearts.
Delores is survived by son David Martinez and wife Melissa, grandchildren Ashley Falls, Jacob Newland, Skyler Martinez, Clarissa Martinez, Anthony Martinez, great grandchildren Johnathan Bates, Cathleen Bates, and Ian Falls. Delores also leaves behind two older sisters.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for Delores will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine, Beaumont, Texas 77703. A Celebration of Delores' Life will occur Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 2:00 PM, with her burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703.
Serving as pallbearers are Skyler Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Larry Long, Jet Long, Mario Gonzales, Mike Gonzales and Jacob Newland.
