Birma C. Castle was born on Christmas Day in 1932 to Spivey and Zera Mae Crimm in Scott County, Mississippi. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas on October 20, 2022. She was 89 years old.
Birma was saved at the age of 12 while attending 1st Baptist Church in Morton, Mississippi and she loved the Lord until He called her home to Heaven. She was a graduate of Morton High School where she was a Majorette. She moved to Beaumont in 1970 with her husband John where they were the highest selling Tupperware sales team 2 years in a row. She was a strong and independent woman who was very self-motivated. She was a published poet and she loved to square and round dance.
Birma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Birma is survived by her son John Franklin Castle and his wife Monique of Beaumont, Texas; her daughters Kathleen "Kathy" Neal and her husband Lester of Durango, Colorado and Vicki Ann Lynn and her husband Randy of Lumberton, Texas; her grandchildren, Aaron Neal, Brad Neal, Jennifer Manuel, Chris Lynn, Luke Castle, and Katelyn Castle; and her great grandchildren Presleigh Manuel, Bellany Lynn, Dahlia Lynn, Adela Lynn, Aaron Neal, Jr. and Star Neal.
Birma was preceded in death by her husbands Kenneth Craven and John Aaron Castle; her father Spivey A. Crimm and her mother Zera Mae Thompson Crimm; and her brother Marvin Crimm.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on October 24, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home located at 4955 Pine St., Beaumont, Texas 77703 with a Celebration of Birma's Life to follow on October 25, 2022 at 10:00 am. She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Roses after services have concluded.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Randy Lynn, Lester Selt, Aaron Neal, Brad Neal, Brad Neal, Chris Lynn, Aaron Neal, Jr. and Luke Castle.
