Billy H. Purdom, 95, a sixty-five plus year resident of Beaumont passed away on Saturday 28, 2015 in Beaumont. Billy was born on September 20, 1920 in Sherman, Texas to Sam D. and Ovie Strong Purdom, who preceded him in death. Also preceding in death were his wife; Idell Purdom, son; Mark Purdom, two brothers, and six sisters. He is survived by his daughter; Paula Purdom Finch, of Beaumont, grandchildren; Katy Finch, Janel Finch Barrow and husband Ike, and nine great grandchildren.
Billy was a Sales Representative for Colgate Palmolive Company and an Insurance Salesman for Provident Insurance Incorporated. He attended Westwood Bible Church in Beaumont and also was a United States Army World War II veteran. Billy loved telling jokes, stories, watching World War II documentaries and all other shows that dealt with all types of history.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 2, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
