Billie enjoyed traveling, and lived overseas for more than 20 years in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Jakarta, Indonesia, and London, England. She was a long-time resident of Houston, Texas, and enjoyed working with the NRG Guest Services. Billie’s greatest joy was being a grandmother, and she thoroughly enjoyed every moment with her two grandchildren Katie and Michael.
She is survived by her daughters: Donna Dishman and husband Archie of Canyon Lake, TX; Carol Wood and husband Thomas of Strongsville, OH; her grandchildren Katie Wood Murphy and husband Connor of Pittsburgh, PA, and Michael Wood of New Orleans, LA; one great-grandson Owen Murphy; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Billie’s family would like to thank the staff of Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, along with staff at Eden Hills and Sodalis, for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided in the last year of Billie’s life.
A Gathering to Celebrate Billie will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Billie's Life will be held immediately following in the Chapel at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
