June spent her early years growing up in Pineland where she attended the Lone Star School. Her teacher was Clara McDonald, her aunt. Some years later, her father moved the family to Texas City where he had taken a new job and they lived there for several years before moving to Beaumont where June graduated from South Park High School in 1950.
After graduating June was hired by Gulf State Utilities in Beaumont. After leaving Gulf States she went to work at the Jefferson County Tax office working in the automobile licensing department where many people in the county came to know her. In 1952, during her employment at Gulf States she met and married Robert Carr and was together until Robert’s passing in 2019, a total of 67 years.
June Carr loved getting together with friends and relatives, especially around the holidays. Her home was always open for a guest to stop by and visit and many did just that. As a life long Christian, she tried her best to extend a loving hand to all that she met. Everyone that knew her saw her Christian faith in all that she did.
June was preceded in death by her husband Robert, his twin brother Ralph and his wife Lilly, her father Curtis Lowe, her mother Mammie May Lowe and her brother Don Lowe.
June is survived by her son Curtis Carr and his wife Jaylene, her son Kenneth Carr and his wife Suzanne, four grand-children, Holden Carr and his wife Hanna, Landon Carr, Rachel Carr and Brian Carr, and in addition two great grand-children Gracelyn Carr and Madelyn Carr.
