Barbara Ann Fertitta

Barbara was born on February 11, 1937, in Waco, Texas, to Charles and Malzie Rook. She lived most of her life in Beaumont, where she married Jerome Fertitta in 1957. Together, they had four children.

A devout Catholic, Barbara was a parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church and a longtime Serra Club member. She enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren, reading books, and playing the piano.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Judith Fertitta.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome Fertitta; daughter Lisa Johnson and her husband Philip; son Jerome Fertitta, Jr., and his wife Randi; son John Fertitta and his wife Amy; sister Mary Rook; brother Charles Rook, Jr.; and grandchildren Barbara Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Thomas Fertitta, and Alex Fertitta.

The Fertitta family thanks the doctors and staff at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth and Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, the wonderful staff at Calder Woods Retirement Community, and Maria Delores Cruz, with special gratitude to Gloria Dickens.

Private services for the family will be held under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church or St. Anne Catholic School in Beaumont.
