Alelah Fay Mitchel

Alelah Fay Mitchel, age 81, of Beaumont died Thursday, July 14, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Fay Mitchel was born February 2nd, 1935 to Zelda A. Scarborough and Alfred Herman Mitchell. She is a retired RN from St Elizabeth Hospital after more about 18 years in the ICU unit. Fay loved to be with her family and sewing for her grandchildren. Her faith was her strength as her health failed the last few years.

Survivors include her sons Michael K Mitchel Jr. and his wife Cathy of Vidor and Kelly Mitchel of Rosesharon; grandchildren, Michael Mitchel III of Plaquemine LA and Jennifer Stassi of Plaquemine LA; great-grandchildren. Evie Mitchel, Christopher Stassi, Sophia Stassi, Donovan Mitchel, and Josh Mitchel; sister, Lytha Hawkins of Silsbee; brother, Don Mitchell and wife Bonnie of Hastings, MN, and sisters-in-law Bonnie Mitchell of Lumberton and Peggy Mitchell of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Michael K Mitchel, Sr.; her parents; grandparents, Henry T Scarborough, Cora Scarborough Stewart and William Stewart, Lytha Elizabeth and John N Mitchell; brothers, Alfred Darnell Mitchell and Alvis Mitchell; mother-in-law Pauline Flach Mitchel Berry.

Graveside service were conducted by Dr. Billy Graff at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
