Albert James East, affectionately known as "Cowboy" and "AJ the Welder," of Beaumont, TX, passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on July 20, 1951, Albert was a proud Navy veteran who served his country with honor.
Albert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He spent countless hours in his shop, where his passion for welding ignited. Albert was a true craftsman, and his meticulous work reflected his dedication and skill. He cherished the company of friends, often sharing moments over a cold beer, and he loved cooking Cajun food.
As said by Albert, he was the "orneriest SOB on the block." Albert's spirited personality left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His sense of humor and candid remarks brought laughter to many.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Abney and Edith East, his brother Alvin Ray East, his sister Louise Marie Robertson, and his nephew Craig Robertson.
He is survived by his devoted girlfriend, Ruth Cotton of Magnolia, Texas, and a loving extended family. His nephews, James Gregory East of Valencia, Spain, Jeffrey Glenn East of Chandler, Arizona, Joel Gary East of Larned, Kansas, and Link Robertson of Jamaica Beach, Texas, along with his niece Roxanne Robertson of Magnolia, Texas, mourn his loss deeply. Albert's legacy lives on through his great nieces and nephews: Sarah Stanley, Rebecca Stanley, Aaron Stanley, Rachael East, Hannah Robertson, Claire Robertson, Jeffrey Glenn East II, Joshua East, and Caleb East.
In addition to family, Albert leaves behind a multitude of friends who will miss his company and the warmth of his friendship. Pallbearers honoring Albert's memory include Donnie Sample, Gary Duncan, Jeffrey East II, Rudy Fruge, Ken Stanford, and Kurt Reisinger.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, TX 77703, on January 19, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at the same location at 2:00 pm. Albert James East will be laid to rest in the Garden of Seasons at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
