Mr. Michael John Kratovil

Michael was born in San Bernardino, CA on January 9, 1952 to Jack and Betty Kratovil. He was brought up in Beaumont and Yucaipa. In 1970 he graduated Yucaipa High School and went to UCLA on an ROTC scholarship. After graduating UCLA with a B.S. in Geology, he completed his time with the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1979 as a Lieutenant JG.

Michael went on to work for the State of California in the Resources Agency as a Gas and Oil Engineer. He worked and lived in Bakersfield, Ventura, and Garden Grove; retiring in 2009 after 28 years.

Michael enjoyed his sail boat, collecting guns and coins, making beer and wine, and working in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and is survived by: his sister Kathleen Bowman of Mountain Center, CA; his brother Patrick Kratovil, Patrick’s wife Deborah, and nephew Kris of Boulder, Colorado.

Graveside services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
