Marlene "Susie" Evans, 75, of Beaumont and Banning, California, entered into eternal peace on Monday, May 20, 2013. She was born March 27, 1938, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Linvel Emery Adams and Mildred (Shelton) Adams and loving sister of the late Wilma-Jean (Adams) Coffee.
Susie married the love of her life, William Nelson Evans on April 18, 1959, in New Boston, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly "Kim" Evans Holmes; two sons David Lee Evans and Mark Alan Evans; five grandchildren Michael Evans, Corey Evans, Ashley Evans, Haley Evans and her new baby sister and one niece Stacy (Coffee) Overson.
Susie was a long time resident of Beaumont and Banning, California. Previously, she grew up in Portsmouth Ohio Valley, graduated from Minford High School in Ohio and relocated to Eagle Mountain, California.
Susie was the perfect mother, homemaker, wife and she was a constant worker bee, often times holding multiple jobs simultaneously. She owned her own children's clothing store, "Children's World", was lunch monitor at the Eagle Mountain Elementary School, a career counselor at Eagle Mountain High School, a retired Courier for Bank of America and even worked as a jewelry shop assistant.
Susie enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, playing cards and was a championship bowler. Susie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of California in Yucaipa, California.
Of the many things Susie accomplished in a life lived well, all who knew her would agree, that it was the love and devotion to her family and friends that brought her the greatest joy in life. In line with Susie's love for laughter, the surviving children Kim, Lee and Mark would simply like to say "...gotcha last".
The family will receive friends for the visitation Wednesday, May 29, 2013, from 9:00am to 10:00am, with the Funeral Service at 10:00am, both at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. The Graveside Service will follow at 11:30am, at Riverside National Cemetery, staging area #6, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California.
