Marcus has been on my mind this morning. We went through school together, starting with kindergarten. We were never really close, but we were friends. He knew me, I knew him, and we respected each other. Fast forward to high school, he was the most charismatic person I met. Kinda had a crush on him for it. He was simply the sweetest person and had the most heartwarming smile. We would pass each other on campus, and smile or nod. I'm an introvert, so it meant the world to me to have someone simply be kind. I tried out for powderpuff football junior year, and I wasn't athletic at all. Marcus was the only person on the team, to not make fun of me. The other guys were making jokes about me, even the girls were. But he ran with me the whole time, staying next to me and encouraging me. He made sure I stayed hydrated, and gave me a hug when I got anxious. I can't stress how much that means to me, still to this day. I'm crying as I write this, because I wish I would've told him all of this at graduation. I will never forget Marcus, or the impact he's had on my life - and this is just as an acquaintance. He was such an amazing man, and I know that my confidence comes from him.

You would have been 23 today my boy. Im still remembering you in my heart forever and always. I love you Marcus, may you Rest In Peace. 

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
