Lester (Les) D. Nolte passed away April 15, 2013, in San Bernardino, California. He was born November 20, 1919, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William and Clara (Dewell) Nolte. Les was an All American Boy. raised by lovely parents.
Les served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He transferred to the U.S. Air Force and became a flight engineer. He flew over the Pacific and landed on many islands. His plane eventually flew over Japan and dropped the A-Bomb over Hiroshima. When the war ended, Les was transferred to Japan where he spent several months.
Les was a Highway Engineer for Cal Trans for 33 years. He was a dedicated worker. Les enjoyed golfing, gardening and traveling with his wife. Les enjoyed Europe, Canada and Hawaii, where they went many times.
Les is survived by his lovely wife Barbara and daughter Susan as well as six grandchildren.
Visitation Sunday, April 21, 2013, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. Funeral service Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 10:30am, both at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Interment Tuesday April 23, 2013, at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California. Military Honors provided by the U. S. Air Force.
