Doris had an amazing life but missed her 100th birthday by less than two months.
She joins her childhood sweetheart Conn who preceded her to Pierce Brothers-Crestlawn in Riverside. Conn and Doris were married for more than 70 years. She is survived by two sons, Robert (wife Martha) and Garry (wife Naomi) plus 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Doris married young, raised a family (3 of 5 children lived to adulthood) plus foster children, became a nurse, worked in hospitals and finished her career as an administrator of two skilled nursing facilities. Doris was an excellent business woman and especially enjoyed buying real estate, she bought her last house at the age of 93.
Doris and Conn were known as risk takers and enjoyed traveling throughout their life. In 2013 Doris enjoyed a cruise to Alaska with Garry, Naomi and Tammy. In 2014 at the age of 97 she flew to Copenhagen for a Baltic cruise with Garry and Naomi.
