Betty L. Frith was a loving woman. Her heritage was rich with the love of God and family,and it is a legacy of faith that she will pass on. She was conservative, quiet and observant in her ways. She was very traditional in her approach to her life and in her relationships. She was also a woman who was strong,gentle,pure and good .Anyone who knew her couldn't help but be comforted by the very existence of that goodness. A Proverbs 31 woman, and her worth is far above precious stones. In James chapter 1, it says every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights ,that was her.
Betty was born on August 17, 1936 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of Frank Alvin Schaefer and Agnes Ruth Schaefer. Betty grew up in San Antonio, Texas, Corpus Cristi, Texas and Brawley, California.
Betty was raised with five siblings. She was the oldest and had four sisters, Bertie, Ethel, Lila and Lola and one brother, Frank. Even at a young age she loved to swim. As a teenager she enjoyed working at a snake farm in Almador, Texas. She would bring snakes home in her purse just to tease her sisters. Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew.Betty enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Christiene and Dumpy.
A typical teenager, Betty enjoyed high school at Brawley High School in Brawley, Caifornia. There she worked at the family buisness A&W Rootbeer. She enjoyed working there as a car hop because she could work in roller skates. In high school Katherine Frith became her best friend,and introduced to her brother Alvin H. Frith.
On July 3, 1953 Betty exchanged wedding vows with Alvin H. Empathic and loyal, Betty was committed to making her new family happy. She and Hill dedicated their life to the Lord Jesus Christ,and began their journey serving God. They attended the First Assembly Of God for fifty four years.
Betty worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she was. She always did her best to fulfill their needs and was always there for them filled with wisdom and kindness. Betty was blessed with five children, four daughters, Kathy, Sherry, Lisa and Connie and one son, Michael. Another blessing for Betty was the gift of eleven grandchildren, Richard, Melanie, Michael, Jason, Jonathan, Wesley, David, Luke, Katie, Amanda and Sadie, and seven great-grandchildren, Haile, Miley, Zechariah, Samantha, Dawson, McKenna and Keegan.
Betty enjoyed her family and always made it a point to make their birthdays special. She loved to sing in the church choir and working with the women's ministry in her c hurch. She loved to cook and hospitality was her gift. Her occupation was a homemaker for 58 years.
Betty enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Israel, Hawaii, Canada and Port O'Connor, Texas.
In retirement, she found new pleasure in fishing trips to Utah and staying active in Church and spending time with her family. Even in retirement, Betty continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Anyone who knew her knew her knew she was a gift ,and she lived with a spirit so closely knit to Jesus.
Betty passed away on February 25, 2011 at Reche Canyon Recovery Center in Colton, California. Betty passed away from cardiac arrest. She is survived by her children, Kathy Mae Powell,(Thomas F .Powell), Michael Alvin Frith ,(Sherryl Frith), and Sherry Diane Jones; eleven grandchildren, Richard Mc Donald, Melanie Menzes, Michael Frith, Jason Powell, Jonathan Powell, Wesley Frith, David Gosney, Luke Frith, Katie Gosney, Amanda Hernandez and Sadie Barbee; seven great grandchildren, Haile Mc Donald, Miley Mc Donald, Zechariah Powell, Samantha Menzes, Dawson Menzes, McKenna Frith and Keegan Frith; and four siblings, Bertie Katherine Banks, Ethel De Falco, Lola Mae Lowe and Frank Schaefer. Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Weaver Mortuary Chapel 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:00 AM at First Assembly of God Church 1166 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223. Betty was laid to rest in Mt. View Cemetery 1315 Edgar Avenue, Beaumont, California 92223.
Simply stated, Betty loved the Lord, loved all her family and was a good and kind person. An individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Who new so much about giving,yet so little about asking for anything in return. She found great joy in putting others first. She will be thought of every day with a deep thankfulness to God the gift of her life. Betty leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Betty Lee Frith.
