William “Bill” Theodore Pregeant passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Pasadena, Texas in 1940 and grew up in South Houston. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served for 9 years, including 1 year in Guam. He was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base when he met the love of his life, Sharon. They were married in 1961. After leaving the Air Force, they planted their roots in Baytown, Texas where they built a beautiful life. He retired from Gulf/Chevron Cedar Bayou in 1998, after working there for 32 years.
Bill and Sharon also owned a bay house in Anahuac, Texas where they had two shrimp boats. In addition to his love for fishing, he also enjoyed hunting, gardening, bird watching, picking pecans, and being with his family.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Pregeant; his parents, Charles H. Pregeant and Audrey R.Elliott; and brothers Charles and Victor Pregeant.
He is survived by his children Russell Pregeant of Baytown, Theodore Pregeant of Baytown, Donald and Debbie Pregeant of Baytown; grandchildren Amanda Jones of La Porte, Melissa Spiers of Baytown, Jennifer and Jacob Eppler of Baytown, Christopher Pregeant of Baytown, and Eugene Pregeant; great-grandchildren Hallie Spiers, Kenley Spiers, Madison Jones, Shelbee Spiers, Nathan Eppler, and Natalie Eppler.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10-12 at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, with funeral services to begin at 12:00. Burial will follow immediately at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
The family expresses gratitude to The Bradford Memory Care and to the Genus Patris Hospice for their love and care during Bill’s final months.
