William O. ""Bill"" Kubik, 80, of Baytown was born July 30, 1928 in Goose Creek and passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 in a local healthcare facility. He was a 1946 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne. He retired from Exxon Research and Engineering and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Civil Air Patrol. He was also a charter member of the Flying Ganders Club. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop #179 and he loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alma Kubik and brother, John Kubik and is survived by his wife of 60 ½ years, Junelle Kubik of Baytown; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Karen Kubik of Beach City; daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Terry Britton of Montgomery; grandchildren and spouses, Josh and Dana Kubik of Beach City, Julie and Cody Joines of Mont Belvieu and Will Britton and Marie Britton, both of Montgomery; and great grandson, Aiden Kubik.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1200 E. Lobit Ave., Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Raymond Van Buskirk officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
