William “Bootie” Gonzales, 61, of Baytown, TX., passed away on December 2, 2021. He was born in Baytown, TX. on January 22, 1960 to Antonio and Juanita Gonzales. He was married to Rebecca Gonzales for 18 years. Bootie had a career in logistics and worked for companies including Kellogg Brown and Root, Budweiser and Daniel’s Construction. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and Masonic Lodge #1192.
Bootie had a passion for watching sports and playing with his beloved dogs, Gonzo and Coco. He was very charismatic and never met a stranger in his life. So it’s no surprise he was named Mr. Robert E. Lee in 1978. He enjoyed feeding the birds and sitting outside enjoying nature. He loved eating authentic Mexican food prepared by his wife, especially when using his mother’s recipes. A special “Thank You” to all of Bootie’s caregivers especially Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center, Divita Dialysis and SEV Homecare as well as a special “Thank You” to Pct. 3 Sherman Engleton for the escort of William to his place of final rest.
Bootie is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Juanita Gonzales; grandparents, William and Carlotta Garcia and brother, Rudolph Gonzales.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Gonzales and pets “Gonzo and Coco”; brothers, Dr. Rev. Michael A. Gonzales and wife Dahlia of Hurst, TX, Steven Gonzales and wife Denise of Liberty, TX. and Timothy Gonzales and wife Kim of Richmond, CA.; step-sons, Brandon Capetillo and wife Blanca of Baytown, TX. and Ian Holter of Austin, TX.; grandchildren, Bethany and Ruben Capetillo; aunt, Gloria and husband Peter Martinez; uncle, Johnny and wife Norma Gonzales along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX. 77521 with visitation 30 minutes prior. Burial will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery 8624 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX. 77521. Officiating the service will be Deacon George Rincon. Reverend Michael Gonzales will be officiating at Graveside. Serving as pallbearers will be Abel Coy, Matthew DeHoyos, Servando Delgado, Joseph Rodriguez, Lee Capetillo, Jesse Gonzales, Rusty Pena and Tim Delgado. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark DeHoyos and Ruben Capetillo.
