Wiley Ray “Wildcat” Carter Sr., 78, of Baytown, TX was born May 29, 1927 in Huntsville and passed away Friday, December 16, 2005 in a local hospital. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, the Odd Fellows Lodge, A. A. with 38 years of sobriety, and was a U. S. Army veteran. He retired from Exxon refinery and after retirement, opened Wildcat’s Detectors, himself being a treasure hunter.
Hid family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, December 19, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby Carter, son, Randy Dale Carter, brother, Marvin Carter, and sisters, Jewel Dawson and Alene Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Charlotte Sherry Carter of Baytown; son, Wiley Carter Jr. of Baytown; daughters, Sarah Carter of Baytown and Elaine Brown of Clovis, NM; brother, Quintlon Carter of Baytown; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
