He was a great musician and played with Blay Ruffino, Jack Green, Ernest Tubb, David Houston, Tex Ritter, Lefty Frizzell, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrel,Deacon (Ragmop) Anderson, Cliff Bruner, All of Deca Artist, and in later years formed his own band called Texas Swing. He was inducted into the Texas Swing Hall of Fame in 2005. He will be greatly missed by all family & musicians and never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Marshall Stubbs, father, Tracy Freeman Stubbs, and sister, Velma Lee Green.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Stubbs, son, Mark Stubbs and wife Lisa Stubbs, grandchildren, Logan Stubbs, Angelique Stubbs – Park and husband Kelton Park, Tyler Stubbs, Madison Stubbs, Mackenzie Stubbs and great grandson Kason Park, sister, Jane Davenport and husband Charles Davenport, nieces Linda Green, Pam Beard, Rebekah Yarbrough, and Sarah Grey.
