As a retired Navy family, I send you our condolences as you mourn the loss of Keith. While words cannot take away the hole in your heart, please know his brave service and ultimate sacrifice have not been in vain. We are mutual friends of another soldier John Scout, from his Battalion who was severely wounded in the same battle which took your loved one's life. So even though we have never met, we want you all to know we are praying for you, that God would bless you and keep you in His perfect peace during this difficult time. May He bring to mind happy memories as you celebrate Keith's life which has impacted so many.

My heart goes out to the family of Keith, He was an amazing man. He always came to my office with a smile. May god be with him.

I did not know you but I want to thank you for being the wonderful human being you were, for serving our country and keeping us safe, for doing a job that most of us cannot do. I never met this young man and though I am in CA, I found out about my hometown hero through Facebook. It is so nice to hear the words of his friends and family that let me know of what a strong and wonderful person he was. My heart is sadden that we have lost such a fine person and to know that his family's hearts hurt. He made his hometown, country, friends and family proud. I pray that his family and friends can feel the love and comfort of Jesus through those around you and praying for you. I tried the phone numbers that I had in my records and was unable to reach you so I decided to drop you an e-mail. One again I am humbled and honored to participate in another homecoming for one of our nation's finest and local son. Since I was notified that we would be handling the arrangements of Spc. Keith Grace, I have kept and relied on my memory of 2005 when I was privileged to be involved with the arrangements of your son PFC Wesley Riggs. I also wanted you to know that I have not forgotten the sacred duty that is mine to perform and wanted to once again thank you for allowing me the privilege in 2005 to serve you, your family, and my nation. I have mentioned Wesley to many folks during these proceedings whenever the word hero comes up. I know that Spc. Grace is good company with PFC Riggs.

Please know that as I prepare for tomorrow's funeral that the memory of your son is with me helping me to remember just what I must do.

We never know in life what we are here for, with the metals he has received then most likely touched a lot of lives over there and possibly saved some. I believe we are here in Godâ€™s plan. It may be that we are here for a moment in time 50 years from when we are born and once we have done what we were meant to do we leave this earth . The way we leave sometimes is hard than others but when you think of it go is gone. A violent death in war to be is very hard to deal with because we are all supposed to love one another so war is not what the world should be doing but finding a way for peace.  Keith is our special hero. He overcame so many challenges through out his life. He has given the ultimate price for our freedom in the USA and the freedom of others across the world as he laid down his life for us and we are so very proud of him.
 We will miss him but know that he is in heaven with our Heavenly Father and is in complete peace and joy.

He was a distinguished Army Soldier admired for his courage, brave deeds and noble qualities. Rest well our HERO, you are with God now.

Keith was always an amazing person to be around. I never saw him where he had a bad day. And if he did he never showed it. He always helped to make things better when possible. Keith was a great person all around. He was honest, humble and caring. He beat cancer at a young age and then fought for our country and risked his life. He gave all and now is with His savior forever resting.

As a mother to a child who lost her dad in Afghanistan 2010 I'd like to send my deepest sympathy to you and your family in this hard time..there is no words to comfort someone during something like this, but I have been there and know what it's like to lose a loved one overseas. It saddens me to know that such a great man is gone. God was obviously ready for this angel. He was a smart man and was always funny. I remember him from high school and how cute his little faces were. He always had a silly face for everything. My thoughs and my prayer go out to his family and closests friends. I too have lost Brothers through combat and suicides. I think the best advice I can give is that things get better with time. Time allows us to reminise the good times and treasure awesome moments that we once shared. It is important to remember that as a Soldier we take pride in what we do and understand that someday we may have to make the ultimate sacrifice. Kieth is a Hero, an American committed to selfless service, a Leader, a Courageous Man, and now... I believe He is a Soldier of Christ looking down and protecting his loved ones. I knew Keith from high school and he was the sweetest person I had ever met. I will always remember him as humble and kind person and I'm glad I got the chance to know him.

I was shocked and saddened when I heard about Dooby, as I fondly remember Keith's nickname when he was young. The last time I saw Dooby was in Subway. He was so excited about joining the Army. Dooby looked so handsome and I was very proud of the strength of this young man. The hard knocks of life did not hinder Dooby turning into the young man that he was.
