Shawn Nunez

Shawn Nunez, 42, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011. He was born June 3, 1969 in Reedley, California, had lived in the Dayton area for the last 3 years and was a former resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He enjoyed writing stories and poetry and had some of his works published. His greatest joy was spending time with his sons.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Alexander; brother, Dewey Wayne Nunez and grandparents, Dorothy and Oris Goodson.

Survivors include his brother, Joe Nunez, III of Houston; half-brother, David Nunez of Los Angeles; father Joe Nunez, Jr.; step-father, Larry Alexander of Dayton; sons, Matthew Nunez and Christian Nunez both of Colorado; grandparents, Joe Nunez, Sr. and Cecilia Nunez and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Stanley officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Jonesville Cemetery in Huntington, Texas.
