Dr. Rivero graduated from the University of Havana Medical School in 1952; and he practiced as a general surgeon for 44 years. He left Cuba in March of 1963, eventually settling in Baytown, TX where he practiced for 26 years.
Dr. Rivero was passionate about his profession. He enjoyed water sports, traveling, hunting, and snow skiing, which he took up at the age of 69. He was a pilot and loved aviation. He loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.
In 2014, Dr. Rivero was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years Wilda Rivero. He was also preceded in death by his parents Santiago Rivero and Ana Busot Rivero, and granddaughter Samantha Rivero.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Dr. Maria Rivero and her husband Don Crosier from Friendswood, TX; Omar Rivero and his wife Lori of San Antonio, TX; Ana Rivero and her husband Dean Crawford of Houston, TX; grandchildren Ryan Rivero of Kansas City, MO; Michael Crosier of College Station, TX; Casey Rivero of Fayettevelle, AR; Zachary Rivero of Fort Worth, TX; Isabel Rivero of Fort Worth, TX; Delanie Del Moral of San Antonio, TX; also by nephews, Dr. Rafael Pardo and his wife Debbie of Baytown, TX; and Dr. Ricardo Pardo and his wife Lynn also of Baytown, TX.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am -12:00 pm for visitation on Monday, August 5, 2019, at Navarre Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services to begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park, Houston, TX.
