Samuel Floyd Butler, 84, of Crosby, TX, was called Home on Tuesday, December 14, 2010. He was known for his ability to tell stories. He enjoyed long walks and helping his neighbors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retiree of ExxonMobil in Baytown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Georgia Butler; two brothers, John and Raymond Butler and sisters, Viola Badgett and Edna Jewell Gregg.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Butler; son, Joe Pompa and wife Elsa; grandchildren, Aerielle, Sarrah and Nicholas Pompa; sister, Joyce Burge and numerous other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2010, at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
