Sammy Allen Masters

Sammy Allen Masters Sr. of Baytown, TX was born in Pelly, TX on September 30, 1943 and at the age of 74 years, went home to be with his Lord on October 24, 2017. He graduated in 1962 from Robert E. Lee High School where he was a member of the State Champion Baseball Team. He was also a member of Old River Baptist Church. Sammy is survived by Ferne Masters, his loving wife of 35 years, son Bo Masters and wife Carolyn, daughter Tammie Masters, sister Jerry Basham and husband Jimmy, stepdaughter Becky Lewis and husband Lyn, stepson Wayne Connerton and wife Kelly, brother Mike Masters and wife Chris. Grandchildren Samantha Masters, Dirk Masters, Landon Lewis, Joshua Connerton and wife Cristina, Trevis Connerton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sammy is preceded in death by his parents W. E. (Bill) and Lillie Masters, sister Patsy Corder, brothers John Wayne and Bobby Eugene Masters, granddaughter Syndni Lewis and great-grandson Robbie Connerton. Serving as Pallbearers will be Bart Albright, Jeff Bradshaw, Darrell Kalbitz, David O’Banion, Chuck Wells, Jason Hudson, and serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Bradshaw and Lyn Lewis. The family extends special thanks to St. Lukes Hospital and Houston Hospice for their attentive and professional care of Mr. Masters. The family would like to invite you for a time of visitation on October 29, 2017 from 2-4pm at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX 77521 with funeral services following on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 10am at the chapel of Earthman Baytown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Houston Hospice.
